Welcome to the first instalment of updating you all on the podcast progress. Thank you to everyone who’s signed up so far!
Here’s the rough plan for getting things kicked off. The idea is that up until launch, I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes peek at different parts of the podcast and all give you a chance to chime in.
Today’s post will focus on the meaning behind the name of the podcast & also a working manifesto to set the tone!
Description
If Time Out LDN was written by biz babes. From tech stacks to coffee shops. Your unfiltered podcast & guide to surviving London & your next product launch - straight from your favs
The Name
The current name “Coffee & Oysters” plays off of two things
Coffee: the thing that fuels most of our lives
Oysters: an ode to the Oyster Card - the humble assistant that gets us around
Slight double-entendre to ‘oysters’ being a representation of the ‘finer’ things in life (fun fact, I actually have a shellfish allergy 🫠)
Completely open to other ideas. I would like to keep elements of playfulness, brevity, business & lifestyle that the current name has.
Some other ideas, but potentially less fun?:

Manifesto
We work, we play, we run things. Our businesses, coffee runs, and sometimes, actual marathons. We are the voice of London's business babes:
We balance work and life: From pitching ideas and upgrading our tech stacks to new fitness classes - we're navigating it all, one Oyster tap at a time
We keep it real: Sharing the wins, the struggles and tough lessons learned. No gatekeeping, sorry
We're explorers: There is a life outside screens & growth never happens inside our comfort zone. Always embracing new experiences - whether it's discovering London's hidden gems or pivoting our business plans
We weren't born to work: Not 'hard workers' but 'smart workers'. We value systems, tech & lifestyle products that free up our time so we can actually LIVE
We value downtime: Rest is productive. Whether it's catching up on our favourite shows or hitting up that restaurant you saw on TikTok - we know that fun is important
We simplify the business journey: Breaking down big dreams & record-breaking revenue months into practical, actionable advice.
We dress for ourselves: Whether it's heels or trainers, jumpsuits or cargos - comfort and confidence come first - especially when you're hustling through the Central line at rush hour
We celebrate our differences: Diverse perspectives make us stronger & value ideas from those deep into the game, as well as those at the beginning of their journey
We are authentic, not aesthetic: We'll keep it real, raw, and relatable - not polished for the algorithm.
We're our own cheerleaders & each other's biggest fans: Self-promotion isn't bragging; it's honouring our talents and inspiring others. We also shine the spotlight on others as we know a win for one is a win for all
Chime In
